Sunday Funday..Or So I Thought

I thought that this outfit would be fun and I wore my newest DIY: the skirt was one of my old L V-necks that I cut the top off of. Its grrreat! Today is warm but not too hot and will be filled with some thrifting and possibly a stop at B and N?

So my parents are in town from PA...WOOO. Buut not really. They are not very pleasant and when they are around its like one huge awkward silence..which is hard to do considering that for the most part we are all immediate family and there are six of us sitting in it! Sooooo weirrd.

Well I'm off to enjoy this beeaaauuuutifulll day!
Tah!

I Have a *Name Has Been Changed For Privacy...

We'll say that her name is....Tammy*..that good?
Okay so I'm sure most of you have had one of these before, or at least seen it on TV. But this is my first one and I'm not entirely sure what to do or how to react, it is pretty funny though, hence numerous television shows based on these kind of people.
Tammy* is an older lady that I work with, and first I'd like to say that I personally have nothing against Tammy* this is just too funny and I am quite perplexed by the situation. She usually works at the cash wrap, she is insanely good at selling memberships, which is one of the things I am confused about...she'll sell like 20 in six hours. Everyone at Barnes and Noble really like her, everyone greets her with a smile and asks how she is, and it seems to be quite sincere when they do so. Everyone talks about her as though she was the coolest, nicest, saint of an old woman. They do extras and favors for her though she holds no high level job. She is bossy and even managers do what she asks, or rather tells. For me to tell you all these things that I see go on around me, you would think that she mush be the nicest, kindest, most loving, and respectful old lady in the world. That is not the case in this situation, and that is what sparks my interest and confusion. Tammy* has almost no facial expression unless you count the distaste that is permanently cemented on, her voice is low and monotone, she never smiles or is cheerful and when she does you think she might just deflate right in front of you, she is bossy and assumes that everyone knows less then her. So all these things are what I see and what I see confuses me. The way people treat her, is not the way that she acts, its as though I see the exact opposite that everyone else sees in her...
Like when she is talking to me and I want to turn around and run the other way screaming, running from the horrid monotone voice and the expressionless face, but I cant and I see a co-worker behind her pointing silently and mouthing, "I love her!". It scares me, it really does. It's almost a joke, the one person that you cant stand is every one's favorite and you don't know why. I would have to say that if I had to pick someone that I knew that was my exact opposite I would have to pick her.
It quite comical really.
And I realized this all today as she called me up to the cash wrap to further explain the same thing, that I might add I already knew, four times! And each time a manager was there to compliment her and thank her for taking her time to explain this remedial task to me.
oohhhh jeeez.

*name has been changed for privacy.

Update and Other Rambles

So sorry,i am aware that it has been quite a while since i was on last and my life has had some changes...
1)My boyfriend, Brian and i broke up...there are a few reasons, and none of them are your business so there! haha sorry, I'm a little sassy on this topic. It happened on the 31st of March. I'm doing better with it now, i just get anxious when i talk about it. I guess i was never really super upset about it...i didn't go all Bella on anyone thank you..but that's not really my nature either. I am looking forward to the time where we can be friends, just good ol' friends, i think that we are a good match for friends anyways...Its just hard.
2)This break up has caused some serious changes in my life...as far as people that i see and interact with. I no longer speak with all of my old good friends. Which is sad, but i understand that it has to be this way. So I'm focusing on making new friends, reconnecting with the old old ones, and attempting to date again--which is quite hard i must admit, i am defiantly having a hard time seeing myself as attractive....ooohhh well all i can hope for is for it to work out sometime, until then i must stay cheerful.
3) I finished the first season of arrested development today!!! woot woot! This show is probably the best of all time!!! I really enjoy it and so does my brother so its a great way for us to spend time together.
4)Jenni, one on the n00bs, and i watched the whole original Star Wars Trilogy together and it was AWESOME!!!! I love Star Wars :)))) So as you can imagine i really enjoyed my self! ..not so much the drive home with was ridiculous!!! can i just rant about the weather for a sec?!? 'cause it is prrretty ridiculous! i had to drive home from a movie night at 3:30 am in a blizzard, down a road that hadn't been plowed and had four inches of snow on it IN THE MIDDLE OF APRIL.
Ridiculous.
Also, i LOVE the Bird and the Bee. can i just say that, is that okay? 'cause i really really doooo. They are amazing.

P.S. i would love to be at Coachella right now....oohhhh so much.

P.P.S. And i am aware that there are whole bunches of stuff i am neglecting to write in this here, bloggy but I'm not in the mood to sit and contemplate all the bad stuff that just keeps happening...okay its not really bad, i cant say that but...."not fun".

I Try.

So....this is me and my interpretation of fashion: (gaahhhh i need a better/more artistic back-drop!!!!! ;]]] hahahahah)

Today's outfit :]

And yesterday's.
HAAAA and more coming soon :]
Especially because i found some prrretty awesome items today at my favorite thrift stores!!
Pics coming soon!
tah tah.

Fashion

Okay, the start of my fashion section of my bloggage.
Well the first thing that you need to know is that:
1) I am a poor collage student who works two jobs to support herself so i have little money to be spending on oh so wonderful clothing...which is very, very, absurdly sad. (i cry about it ;] haha)
and..
2) That I am not only super poor but i live in Utah... and not just Utah but Orem, Utah which is no fashion capitol...of anything. I mean even SLC (Salt Lake City) isn't large by any means. So as Fashion resources go they are far and in between you have to really look for those hidden gems. Also the Orem/Prove area has two universities so LOTS of trendy kids are in those same stores looking to be super cool and find all those gems i was talking about.
Don't get me wrong, i love living in Utah (minus the almost-absurd liquor laws), it is beautiful! We have mountains, forests, deserts, red rock, caves, rivers, lakes, the best snow on earth, and well, everything when it comes to outdoor act ivies. Plus its just a pretty chill place, very up-and-coming with Park City and Sundance (if you don't count the Mormons).
Utah:

The Salt Flats

Park City

Wasatch Front (mountains and forest)

Best Snow on Earth

The Red Rock and Desert

Our biggest City? Sadly, yes, this is SLC.

I kid you not, these are all real pictures of Utah, as you can see it is beautiful but not too many people..or shopping. I mean we just barley got our first Anthropology and Urban Outfitters... And no H&M to speak of, not even the ability to order off the Internet? (Luckily i have stalked up).

Pathetic.

So you may imagine that if THAT is our biggest city then where do you find cute clothes?

At places like these, my friend:

They don't look like much, but within these humble thrift stores lye the keys to being fashionable in Utah, i mean we have to work with what we got, ya know what i mean? Places like these plus little boutiques, mixed with forever 21 is pretty much what we have. But i think that we compete pretty well, considering.

So now that I'm done explaining myself its time to show you what I've got eh?

In Other News

My quirky stepfather Steve has decided to write a new book, and for all of you who read or even heard about his last book; The family classic: rexGun by: Dr Stephen W. Templar (available on Amazon.com for about 12 bucks), you should be jumping in your computer chair!!!!
hhahahahhahahaha
This new book he has recently started working on is called: "Gods and Guns", well i don't know about you but it sounds like a hit to me! and this new masterpiece will go over other avenues that you may be wondering about, such as the American Sasquatch, sea monsters, the yeti, and other thought-to-be mythical creatures. Look for it in your local books stores soon!
But seriously, if your looking to try to kill a T-rex or even thinking about what it would take to kill a monster of its size, weight, or speed you should check it out.

Also i have decided to dedicate part of this lovely blog to FASHION, one of my passions!
I will have runway pics and outfits that i just L O V E.
More on this coming in the morning.
tah!

Work

Barnes and Noble
What a wonderful and exciting place to work...right? Most people believe that the answer is yes and it can be...if you have a sense of humor like me.........or a HUGE nerd..also me.
I am a jack of all trades, I do cash wrap, info, newsstand, kids, and recovery.
I AM AMAZING!
Bu some pretty interesting people come into big b and n. Like my friend dave the mechanic. He is an older man, with white messed up hair scruffy facial hair, huge glasses that are so strong they magnify his eyes to the point that his face is all eyes and his other features tend to drop out of existence, but most noteworthy of his appearance is his old fashioned blue mechanic jump suit ya know the ones with the breast pocket and the red and white name tag? He is wearing this every time I see him. And you can probably guess what his name tag says.....DAVE in red script. Well as you can imagine this is truly the only name that blue jump suit would have on it, so i cant decide if that is actually his name or if that jump suit just says dave because it would. So as you might be able to imagine i am quite literally confused.
There is also this old guy with long white dredds down to his but! and scraggly long beard. He is always wearing this deep green army looking jacket and where it would say the last name of the soldier wearing it, it says "anti-fascist" and on the arm there is a patch that says "anti-fascism". It is quite interesting.
A lot intersting people come into b and n. So i am pretty much occupied at all times, if not by my actual job then by the customers. So in conclusion i would have to say that i love working at Barnes and Noble.
and with that i say goodday!

The Basics

Like I said, I'm 19 and I go to Utah Valley University (YAY for overachievers!). I work a lot, it seems like my whole life is spent at work or watching fifa '09, it is riveting. Oh yes, i work at, drum roll please, Barnes and Noble, now carrying new super indie accessories, prefect for spring. I am insanely sarcastic and most people think I'm funny. I am a SUPER nerd and if you know me you know that I'm not just saying that, don't let my appearance deceive you!! haha. I did debate all through high school thus, I fallow politics but I'm not into politics. People get WAY too into something that is not going to change no matter how angry they get or how many they argue with. I am kindAdd Image of a fatalist when it comes to such things, but I am an optimistic fatalist. Don't judge and yes, I just said that, I am very aware that it is an oxymoron but it is what I am. I just know that everything we know is going to die, break, or possibly explode at some point, but I'm optimistic about it! :]
This is me:

There is a boyfriend so sorry all you young bachelors haha. His name is Brian, he's 21 and from Cali Cali (I am aware of how cool i seem when i say things like cali cali, thank you). He also goes to UVU, he studies business, and he lives with some really cool roommates who, i have the pleasure of seeing on a daily basis. Though they are usually playing fifa I still can enjoy their company. They go by the names of Roah (Jordan), Gabe, and don't forget, Anon (the cutest dog ever that doesn't look like a rat).

Brian for all you folks at home:

Oh and there is the matter of my best friends. There is the infamous Courtney Thayer who i love sososososo much. She is probably the funniest person I know and together we make a trifecta of humorous power!!! We have had some very good times together, it is always an adventure. Though we have been forced to get grown up jobs and not sit and do crazy things we are still pretty funny.
Ladies and Gents, Courtney:

There is also the matter of my sister to be discussed. Her name is Autumn i LLOOOOVVEE her, we are a year and five months apart, and either you think that we look exactly alike or nothing alike. Oh well.. So she is funny, serious, and very smart. She speaks french, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and of coarse English. She also spent a year in Italy. I live with her once again and i don't think that she has worn a single bit of her own clothing since.. hahaha..i just have cute clothes i guess. ;)))
This is herr:

(and cera but i reallllly liked this pic)
and yes, i had purple hair.
